Personality: To begin with, Din is not a pushover in any sense of the word. Having been named for the Goddess of Power, she's always done her best to live up to the expectations that such a name would cause others to have of her - and, well, she's done a good job of it. When she has opinions, she has absolutely no qualms about voicing them. If she wants to do something, she'll do it! Heaven help you if you try to get her to do something she doesn't want to do, because in most cases you'll be treated to such a display of stubbornness that it might just make your head spin. She is aware that sometimes there is a need for compromise, it's just that in most cases that need doesn't really exist. Would it make things easier if she compromised? Yes. Can everyone's goals be accomplished without her compromising? If the answer to that is "yes," then you can expect Din to stick to her guns and live her life the way she wants. She's incredibly strong-willed and as such, she isn't easily swayed.

But just because she's strong-willed doesn't make her rude or a mean person. While she's stubborn, this really means she just won't back down - she doesn't go out of her way to point out why her way is best and why someone else's way is wrong; she just won't let herself be influenced by a plan that she doesn't agree with. It's true that she can be rather forceful in her convictions and sometimes a little impatient as well, but there's no real maliciousness in the way she behaves. She may sometimes be a little rough around the edges but when it comes down to it she really does have a kind heart. It bothers her to see others in pain (though her gut reaction is often more along the lines of "I'm going to challenge the person hurting them and avenge their honor!" than "Oh, I'd better heal them right away" if she sees something happening)... when they're not obviously the villain in a situation, anyway. (She has no problem with, say, General Onox getting what's coming to him, for example, but oh man if that jerk ever hurt any of her friends she would kick his butt so fast, so long as she didn't get trapped in a crystal first).

She has a way of captivating people, and it's not just in the way she dances, either - though that is a large part of it. When it comes down to it, Din is a very charismatic person - because all the love of dance in the world won't get her anywhere with the crowds without a certain amount of charisma. The people who know her tend to think well of her, even when it's just for a short amount of time (as seen by the way people react to her in Holodrum before even knowing that she's the Oracle of Seasons). For her part, she loves people of all kinds - people are a part of nature, after all, and she finds the way that they can be so incredibly diverse to be fascinating. She enjoys talking to people and getting to know them... and she also enjoys dancing with them. To her, dance is the easiest way to get to know someone: the way a person moves - and the ease (or lack thereof) with which they move - is generally indicative of some part of their personality, and Din loves to see that.

Being an Oracle, however, she's well aware of what her duties are. She knows full well that it falls to her to keep the seasons balanced the way they ought to be, and she's dutiful enough that she won't brush aside her responsibilities just to satisfy her own whims. First and foremost, she must be the Oracle of Seasons; only when that's done can she be Din the dancing girl. If it's required for her to compromise in some way in order to complete her duties, she'll do it; if, in order to protect someone who is powerless to protect themselves, she must put herself in danger, she'll do that too. She knows she's not just a normal girl, and with great power comes great responsibility - a responsibility to Holodrum and all of the people within it. It really grinds her gears when she can't complete her responsibilities - she holds herself to pretty high standards.

Outside of her duty, though, she can be rather capricious. There are so many things to see and so many differences to experience that her attention can sometimes flit from thing to thing in the blink of an eye. The things she likes are varied. She loves the way a flower's petals are silky-soft just when it begins to bloom, but she loves the crunch of the leaves when they've fallen from the trees too. An iced-over pond is just as lovely to her as a babbling brook. And why shouldn't they be? They're all a part of nature, all things that have to do with the seasons she helps to regulate. They're the beautiful things that mean she's doing her job right and to her, there's almost nothing more wonderful than experiencing a job well done.

Almost, because there's one thing Din loves best of all, and that's dancing. It's when she dances that she's really free - free to move, free to express herself, free to do anything, really. She's a very energetic girl and she gets a little restless when she has to stay in one place for too long (which, aside from trying to avoid General Onox, was another reason she was part of a traveling dancing troupe). She can sometimes be a little tomboyish in the way she behaves or speaks, and sometimes people can find that a little jarring, but when she's dancing? That's when she can really be herself, and it doesn't matter then if the people around her do or don't understand what she's doing, because she's content and that's what matters.
Abilities: As the Oracle of Seasons, it is Din's job to ensure that the seasons are flowing the way they should be - and thus she has the power to change the seasons at will by invoking the powers of the Spirits of the Seasons. (Most of the time she just lets them progress naturally, though.) It's worth noting that it has a lot to do with her own power rather than just the Spirits' powers, as Din being imprisoned in a crystal is enough to send the seasons out of whack even after Link retrieves the Rod of Seasons and gets it powered up by all of the Spirits - in fact, the Rod of Seasons is only used to allow for a certain degree of power over the seasons in the absence of an actual Oracle, which implies that without the Rod and without an Oracle, the Spirits... aren't any good at doing their job, apparently. Then again, it is Din who has a connection to the earth, so she's really the bridge that connects the physical world and the spiritual world; without her, it's not surprising that things get out of hand.

Her powers are expanded upon in the Oracle of Seasons manga, where invoking the spirits has a different effect depending on which spirits are being called on and how much of the power she uses, so I'll use examples from that to determine how exactly her season-changing powers work. When she called upon the Spirits of Winter, for example, she was able to summon up cold wind, ice, and snow without actually making it winter. When she called on the spirits of all four seasons at the same time, she was able to restore the life energy that General Onox had drained out of Link in time to keep him from actually dying.

Going by gameplay mechanics and what's established in the manga, Din can do the following things when invoking the powers of the proper spirits -

Winter: She can lower temperatures drastically, can freeze water, can make it snow and hail, and can call on and control chilling winds.
Spring: She can make flowers bloom and plants grow, can cause waters to swell until they flood, and can make it rain. Since spring is tied to rebirth and regeneration, she can also use the powers of the Spirits of Spring for minor-to-medium healing.
Summer: She can raise temperatures drastically, can dry up water, and can spark fires. Din's Fire ftw
Fall: She can cause plant life to begin to wither and die. Since autumn is tied to the end of the "growing" seasons and thus to "death," she can also use the powers of the Spirits of Autumn to cause slight to moderate fatigue in a target, but not enough to actually kill them.

tl;dr season haxing.

Other than that? She's in good physical shape and is a darn good dancer, apparently. She tends to not use her powers unless she really has to (so I'm totally okay with suppressing or outright cutting any of these if you'd prefer - I'm not really sure how you'd want the seasons thing to work given the Tower weather reports, but I was thinking it'd probably only work on a limited area, like maybe it'd just be contained to whatever floor Din was on and would revert back to normal when she left or something).
Sample Entry: A post on dear_mun (at this moment there aren't any replies to it but she did speak quite a bit in the post itself? But if you'd like I can revise the sample easily!).
